The October Club meeting took place on Saturday afternoon, October 16th at the Tyler Kennel Club in Canton, Tx. We held a brief business meeting followed by a presentation / discussion on Therapy Dogs presented by our own Billie Cannon and Linda Marla (Baylor Health). Linda discussed how the Baylor therapy program works, while Billie discussed the Delta therapy program works. It was very informative and well attended. Also thanks to Bartels for the use of the patio area outside their RV.

The February ArkLaTexGRC Club meeting was held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the home of Kelly Brown in Rockwall, Tx. This served as the club's annual membership meeting as well as a fun Holiday Party. A brief business meeting was held followed by dinner with appetizers, sides and desserts.

A fun time was held by everyone.

January 2012 - Annual Club Meeting / Holiday Party

We will be having the ArkLaTexGRC Annual meeting and Holiday party on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 6pm. We will be going to Luigi's restaurant in Rockwall, TX. http://www.luigisitaliancafe.com

For the business portion of the meeting, we will be accepting the below proposed slate of officers:

We will also be partaking in our annual Gift exchange game. If you wish to participate, please bring a Golden Retriever related gift item either wrapped or hidden in a gift bag. The game is a lot of fun for everyone!

From IH30 (East or West): Take Exit 68 (S. Goliad St) and head North on S. Goliad St. Luigi's will be on your left in 0.3 miles.

From Plano/Richardson/Allen/Wylie area: Take TX78 to TX205 South. In Rockwall, take the left fork to remain on TX205/S. Goliad St. Luigi's will be on the right about 0.3 miles prior to IH30.


	December 2007 - Club Meeting: This meeting was a Conformation Match at a park to educate our new membership on the ins/outs of conformation showing and to explain the judging process followed by a Holiday Party. Our 1st Annual Holiday party was a huge success thanks to hostess Billie Cannon and Colleen Maddox' home cooking. After lunch we had a Gift Exchange with a lot of 'stealing' followed by the Club meeting. A great time was had by all!
	February 2008 - Club Meeting: This meeting was a demonstration by a field trainer to educate the membership on field work by a Golden Retriever. The members were able to test dog's field instincts. Thanks to Teresa King for the use of her land.
	April 2008 - Club Meeting: This was a business meeting held at the Shreveport Kennel Club AKC Show. A large number of the membership were in attendance at this AKC show competing in conformation and obedience. Some of the members also assisted the local Kennel Club by working as stewards during their sanctioned AKC B-Match.
	May 2008 - Club Meeting: This meeting was a Rally demonstration to educate the membership on the newest AKC performance competition venue. The members in attendance were given the opportunity to try Rally either with their own dog or with a Rally trained dog. Thanks to Teresa King for the use of her training facility. ___________________________________________________________________ July 2008 - Club Meeting: This meeting was held at the Longview Kennel Club AKC Show. Meeting took place in the Obedience Building. Member Teresa King explained the workings of an Obedience Trial to those members who were not familiar with the various Obedience classes. ____________________________________________________________ . September 2008 - Club Meeting: This meeting was held at Kelly Brown's home, no formal program but a club family outing. It was fun to watch the dogs swimming in the pool with the children. Dinner was delicious, thanks to Kelly's culinary delights we enjoyed two different styles of Chicken Casserole with hot garlic bread. For desert there was fresh fruit and a wonderful chocolate fountain to dip fruit or cake squares into. Thank you Kelly!!! ____________________________________________________________ October 2008 - Club Meeting: Meeting was held at the Tyler Texas Kennel Club Dog show on Saturday, October 11th following the Golden Retriever show ring. After the business meeting we had our program which was a grooming seminar. After the grooming seminar members and guests helped groom each others puppies for the fun match. Thanks to all the members and guests who attended (can't see everyone in the pictures). After the grooming seminar, the Tyler Texas Kennel Club had a Sanctioned Match, all ArkLaTex GRC members placed in their classes and we are proud to announce that Colleen Maddox took Best Of Breed and then went onto a Sporting Group First, congratulations to Colleen and the lovely "Flair" :-) ____________________________________________________________ December 2008 Annual Meeting & Holiday Party Meeting/Party was held at the home of Kelly Brown on December 28, 2008. We had a wonderful lasagna catered in by Kelly and delicious sides, bread and deserts brought by club members. We held a brief business meeting followed by a the always 'fun stealing' gift exchange. ____________________________________________________________ February 2009 - Club Meeting Meeting was held at Ben Gill Park in Terrell on February 7, 2009 off of I-20. The program consisted of conformation handling for both puppies and adults followed by tips on clicker training to get the attention of your conformation puppy / dog presented by Ann Horton. Following the class, we had a short business meeting and picnic lunch. under the Pavilion. ____________________________________________________________ April 2009 - Club Meeting: A short business meeting was held at the Shreveport Kennel Club show in Bossier City, LA on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Following the business meeting there was a grooming demonstration performed. The meeting was attended by many club members, 2 applicants and 1 interested prospective member. ____________________________________________________________________________ June 2009 - Club Meeting This meeting was scheduled for June 13th at the Texarkana Dog show. Due to severe weather hitting the majority of our members a few days prior, the meeting has been postponed until July. We had members with serious property damage with trees fallen on cars, fences, leaning on homes and other storm damage. Thankfully no one was injured. We did receive two new member applications via email afterward. _____________________________________________________________________ September 2009 - Club Meeting A short business meeting was held at the Hot Springs Kennel Club show in Hot Springs, AR on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The meeting was attended by many club members, including 2 new club members. _____________________________________________________________________ December 2009 Annual Meeting & Holiday Party Meeting/Party was held at the home of Theresa King on December 27, 2009. We had a wonderful lasagna dinner supplied by the club and delicious sides, bread and deserts brought by club members. A brief business meeting followed by a the always 'fun stealing' gift exchange. We also had a GRCA WC and AKC Hunt test demonstration and showed the differences between the two tests. ____________________________________________________________________ March 2010 - UKC Show / Meeting The March meeting took place at the UKC show at the Denton County Fair Grounds in Denton, Tx. The show and the meeting was well attended with 8 existing members and 1 new member. After the morning show, we had a lunch meeting in the Bartels' RV. Thank you Ken and Judith for your hospitality. ____________________________________________________________________ May 2010 - Caddo KC Show The May meeting took place at the Caddo Kennel Club (May 8th) located in Marshall, TX. There was a brief business meeting was held after the Golden Retriever judging. ____________________________________________________________________ July 2010 - Club Meeting The July meeting took place Saturday afternoon, July 17, 2010. Our own ArkLaTexGRC member (and Treasurer), Renee Smith, DVM gave a presentation on the use of Penn-Hip evaluations for Hip Dysplasia. All in attendance found it very informative. Thanks Renee!
